40 years behind the lens

I started my career as a press photographer in the late 1970s and have worked continuously as a full-time photographer ever since. In 1982, I began photographing the Danish Royal Family and have covered every major royal event since — Queen Margrethe's landmark birthday celebrations, Crown Princess Mary's arrival in Denmark, the Crown Prince couple's wedding in 2004, Prince Joachim's two weddings and numerous other official occasions.

Alongside royal work, I have photographed the world's biggest names in international entertainment — Rolling Stones, KISS, Michael Jackson, Bruce Springsteen, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Aerosmith, Black Sabbath, Toto, Billy Idol and hundreds of others. My concert images have been published by magazines and media agencies across Europe and beyond.

I am based on the island of Lolland and photograph in Copenhagen, across Zealand and throughout Denmark. My work spans weddings, families, corporate clients, events and portraits. Whatever the assignment, my approach is the same — relaxed, natural and focused on the decisive moment.

I have published two photobooks: Kongehuset i det nye årtusind (The Royal Family in the New Millennium, 2020) and The Stars Are Out Tonight (2019).
